Permagard: The Original Aircraft Manufacturer-Approved Paint Protection System

When it comes to choosing a paint protection system for aircraft, Permagard stands in a league of its own. Developed originally for the aviation industry, Permagard isn’t just another ceramic coating from Asia. It is the only form of durable paint protection that has been approved by every major aircraft OEM. From Dassault Aviation, Gulfstream, and Textron Aviation to Embraer, Bombardier, Fokker, and Airbus, Permagard has earned the trust of the most demanding names in the aviation industry. That’s not something you can fake or force. It’s from proven results and unmatched quality for over 26 years.

From Aircraft to Cars: A Legacy of Excellence

Permagard was never designed as a knockoff or trend-following product. Permagard was engineered to solve a very specific problem in the aviation industry: how to effectively protect sensitive aircraft painted surfaces from harsh environmental conditions without compromising safety, weight, or performance. What truly separates Permagard from the countless copycat brands out there is more than just our company’s history. It’s our ISO 9001 certification that ensures unmatched quality standards, proven results and testing for over 26 years, and formal approvals from all major aircraft OEMs. Permagard isn’t just another product. It’s a household name in the aviation industry. With an aviation-grade product, like Permagard, there comes a certain level of expected results. Well, our results are out there and Permagard is used by aviation detailers all across the world. This is simply not the case for newly started automotive-grade products that pass the Boeing standard, which literally any product can pass. Permagard is an aviation-grade product that can be applied to cars. Not an automotive-grade product that can be applied to aircraft. Aircraft manufacturers’ approvals have taken us from a minimum of 5 years to up to 10 years to obtain. Testing a product to the Boeing standard can be accomplished in one day.

OEM Approval vs. Passing the Boeing Standard

Let’s clear up one of the most misunderstood claims in the paint protection industry. Many automotive-grade product brands boast that they “pass the Boeing standard,” which refers to a specification for aircraft exterior cleaning and polishing products. While passing this test means a product hasn’t caused immediate damage to the aircraft’s surfaces during testing, it is not an endorsement, nor is it an approval for use on commercial aircraft. Many car care products eager to enter the aviation market pass the Boeing standard and claim that their products are approved by Boeing. That is simply not the case. In contrast, Permagard holds full OEM approvals. This means we’ve undergone years of testing, certification, and real-world application evaluations by the OEMs themselves. Put simply: OEM approval matters for aircraft owners. It ensures that the product being applied to their aircraft has the trust of the original aircraft manufacturer. Permagard has these approvals. Copycat brands do not.

Handmade in Miami, Certified to the Core

Every bottle of Permagard products is handmade in our Miami headquarters facility, where quality isn’t just a process. It’s a culture that we have created for our customers’ needs. Every Permagard product that is manufactured adheres to the strict standards set by our ISO 9001 certification, ensuring consistent quality control through our Quality Management System and continuous improvement for our overall standards. Every Permagard product can also be traced back to every raw material used in the manufacturing process. Our lab holds samples of each product manufactured dating back 20 years. This allows us to know keep records of every batch of Permagard products, so that we know exactly which batches are applied to which aircraft. This level of traceability is rare in the paint protection industry and ensures that every installation of Permagard meets the highest standards of reliability and performance.

Why Copycats Can’t Keep Up

Other brands may imitate the concept of Permagard and copy our marketing terminology, but they cannot possibly replicate our technology, the trust of OEMs that we have cultivated for over 26 years, or the commitment to manufacturing high-quality, handmade products in the USA. When a product is engineered for the world’s most demanding environments and trusted by the most respected names in the aerospace business atmosphere, you know you’re getting a level of quality that no off-the-shelf polymer sealant or ceramic coating can match. This is exactly why Permagard is used across the world every day for every type of aircraft and has protected over $35 billion worth of assets to this day.

Why We Chose South Florida

Permagard Headquarters chose Miami, Florida, as its base of operations for a few reasons. The biggest one being that Florida, particularly South Florida, is the ideal environment for testing our products. This is due to the harsh environment of South Florida all year round. Scorching sun that never quits, 90-100% humidity in the summers and falls, torrential rains during hurricane season, strong winds on open waters, salt laden air, etc. These are a just a handful of the environmental factors of South Florida. But it is also the perfect testing grounds for many paint manufacturers. So much so, that paint companies have used South Florida as a benchmark for weathering resistance, and use a system called the, “Florida Test.” We test our coatings in the same manner that paint manufacturers test their paints in South Florida. The weather conditions are so tough that one can observe that no roads have painted traffic signals and lines that last on asphalt in south Florida. South Florida is definitely an ideal environment for testing the durability of paint protection coatings

The Permagard Promise

Whether it’s soaring at 30,000 feet or cruising down the highway, Permagard delivers a durable protective finish that goes beyond aesthetics. Permagard is an aviation-grade product that protects 100% of your aircraft’s painted surfaces from environmental attacks and oxidation. It creates a slick, smooth surface that greatly enhances paint colors’ contrasts, while increasing gloss readings to reach the high 90s or even triple digits over the lifetime of the aircraft.  Permagard is all about performance, protection, and peace of mind. Backed by the credibility of the aviation industry and the integrity of a brand that’s never cut corners. Permagard: Engineered for the sky. Unmatched on the ground.
