Certified Paint Protection for Textron Aviation Aircraft

Textron Aviation Paint Protection by Permagard

Textron Aviation Paint Protection

In the world of aviation, protecting your aircraft’s paint is just as important as maintaining its engine(s) and avionics. Whether you operate a Citation CJ4, a King Air 360, or an iconic Cessna 172 Skyhawk, protecting your aircraft’s painted surfaces is essential for its longevity and structural integrity. Preserving the aircraft’s aesthetics is important for maintaining its visual appearance, but it is also important for maintaining its long-term value and keeping the surfaces slick and smooth for easier maintenance. Your aircraft paint’s primary role is to protect the structure from corrosion. Therefore, by protecting the paint with a high-quality paint protection coating like Permagard, you increase the aircraft paint’s resistance to corrosion.

This is where Permagard can protect and preserve your Textron Aviation aircraft. For more than 20 years, Permagard has been protecting Textron Aviation aircraft with a high-performance, aviation-grade paint protection solution that continues to set the industry standard. Unlike automotive-grade ceramic coatings or waxes, Permagard was specifically engineered for aerospace environments and continues to deliver high-quality, long-lasting results trusted by major aircraft manufacturers, aircraft operators, and aircraft detailers worldwide.

More Than Two Decades of Trust: Permagard and Textron Aviation

Textron Aviation, the manufacturer behind trusted brands like Citation, Beechcraft, and Cessna, has long recognized the importance of proper exterior care and preservation. It is why Permagard is formally approved by Textron Aviation for use on their aircraft. Permagard has been protecting Textron Aviation aircraft for over two decades – protecting hundreds of Textron Aviation aircraft around the world from UV radiation damage, corrosion, harsh pollutants, and many other environmental attacks that degrade and compromise aircraft painted surfaces.

Whether applied at delivery to the customer’s aircraft, during scheduled maintenance, or as part of a fleet program, Permagard has earned the loyalty of Textron Aviation aircraft owners, pilots, and maintenance professionals who demand high-quality results without compromise.

Permagard is listed in Textron Aviation’s aircraft maintenance handbooks across their entire product line as the recommended paint protection product for the proper care of their aircraft’s painted surfaces. That official listing gives aircraft owners peace of mind knowing they’re using a Textron Aviation-approved paint protection solution backed by over two decades of real-world proven results, reliability, and performance.

Why Permagard is the Leading Aircraft Paint Protection Solution for Textron Aircraft

Permagard isn’t a traditional wax or an automotive-grade product. Permagard is an aviation-grade, highly durable paint protection coating that is handmade and manufactured in the USA, exclusively using American-made materials.

Here’s what sets Permagard apart from our competitors:

Aviation-Specific Formulation

Permagard was originally designed for aerospace environments and formulated to meet the needs of all aircraft paint systems, which must withstand extreme weather conditions in rapidly changing climates all over the world. These include increased levels of UV radiation at high altitudes, rapid temperature spikes, strong storms, and freezing winds.

While automotive-grade products often contain brittle resins and hardeners that can crack and damage paint over time, Permagard remains flexible and breathable, protecting the paint without trapping moisture or deteriorating under stress.

Exclusively For Certified Installers

Permagard is not sold to the general public and cannot be purchased in stores or online. Permagard products can only be purchased and applied by certified detailers that have been trained and certified to do so. All Permagard products can only be purchased from Permagard Headquarters and all training and certification courses are conducted exclusively by Permagard Headquarters. This ensures that every Permagard application meets our high standards for the Permagard brand, and for the aviation industry.

Only One Application

Permagard is applied once. The Permagard coating is applied the first time as the “initial application”. After the initial application has been completed, Permagard customers may enter into a 5-year warranty that is upheld through the Permagard Maintenance Program. Every 11-13 months, the Permagard coating receives a Permagard Service Treatment, which deeps cleans the treated surfaces. This is to keep the Permagard coating in good standing with the Permagard Maintenance Program over the 5-year warranty period. This also allows customers to benefit from increased gloss readings from year to year as opposed to lower gloss readings if the aircraft paint is not protected by Permagard.

OEM Approvals

Permagard is formally approved by all major aircraft OEMs, including Textron Aviation. Many automotive-grade product brands boast that they “pass the Boeing standard,” which refers to a specification for aircraft exterior cleaning and polishing products. While passing this test means a product has not caused immediate damage to the aircraft’s surfaces during testing, it is not an endorsement, nor is it an approval from Boeing. Many car care products eager to enter the aviation market pass the Boeing standard and claim that their products are approved by Boeing. That is simply not the case. Passing the Boeing standardization test does not guarantee that a product will perform the way it is intended to over a period of multiple years. Almost any product can pass the Boeing standardization test, with the exception of corrosive products such as acids.

In contrast, Permagard holds full OEM approvals, which have taken anywhere from 5-7 years to obtain each approval. This means we have undergone years of testing, certification, and real-world application evaluations by the OEMs themselves.

Permagard has a formal OEM approval from Textron Aviation for use on their aircraft’s painted surfaces and it is why we are recommended in Textron’s own maintenance documentation. That means Textron Aviation has reviewed and validated Permagard’s compatibility with their paint finishes, not just from a chemical safety standpoint, but for actual in-service use.

This distinction is important: an OEM approval and recommendation that takes years to obtain carries far more weight than simply passing a standard test that is achieved over the course of a week.

The Benefits of Permagard for Textron Aircraft

Permagard offers a premium range of tangible benefits for Textron aircraft owners and operators worldwide, whether you’re maintaining a brand-new Citation Latitude or restoring an older Beechcraft Bonanza.

Long-Lasting High-Gloss Finish

Permagard creates a deep, mirror-like gloss that enhances the paint’s vibrancy and gives your aircraft a freshly polished, showroom-quality, wet-look finish. This high-gloss finish is achieved by bringing out the depth of shine from your aircraft paint’s overall thickness, without abrasive polishing techniques or paint correction. This makes Permagard the perfect choice for older, aging paints or more delicate, softer paints.

Environmental Protection

From harsh salt-laden air and acid rain to industrial fallout and intense UV radiation, an aircraft’s painted surfaces are constantly exposed to many environmental attacks. Permagard’s aviation-grade coating creates a highly durable sacrificial layer that shields against these elements, completely negating fading, oxidation, and paint degradation.

Easier Maintenance

Permagard’s ultra-slick surface effectively resists dirt, soot, insects, and carbon buildup, making routine maintenance washes faster, cleaner, and more efficient. Operators report that Permagard often dramatically reduces exterior cleaning times and costs, thanks to its slick water-repellant properties and decreased maintenance requirements.

Corrosion Prevention

By effectively sealing the microscopic pores in the aircraft’s painted surfaces, Permagard helps prevent water and contaminants from penetrating the aircraft substrate. This reduces the risk of corrosion, especially in high-risk areas like rivet lines, seams, and panel gaps, where paint is thinner and moisture tends to collect, and damage can start undetected. It’s important to remember that the primary role of your aircraft’s paint is to protect the structure from corrosion. Therefore, by protecting the paint with Permagard, you are building up on the painted surfaces with a 4 micron thick sacrificial layer, ensuring maximum protection against corrosion from forming.

Paint Preservation

Repainting an aircraft is not only expensive but also requires significant downtime. With repaint costs often exceeding six figures for larger aircraft and requiring weeks of downtime, preserving your aircraft’s original paint is a smart long-term investment. Permagard helps extend the life of your original factory paintwork, preserving both its aesthetic and functional value. Permagard will beautify your aircraft to keep it looking brand-new for years to come.

Handmade Quality, ISO 9001 Certified

Permagard isn’t just an OEM-approved product and service. Permagard is also an ISO 9001-certified company. This means that we adhere to the strict ISO 9001 quality management standards that have been set by our quality management system to produce handmade, high-quality, aviation-grade products with zero defects that are always punctually delivered. ISO 9001 also allows us to have full traceability for every Permagard product batch that is manufactured, meaning every Permagard product batch is tested before being made available to the customer. We also keep product samples of each Permagard batch manufactured in our Permagard Headquarters laboratory in Miami, Florida. Not only is this important to Permagard’s brand values, but it also means you are receiving the highest-quality product in the aviation paint protection industry, manufactured in the USA exclusively with American products that are 100% traceable.

For over two decades, Permagard has protected Textron aircraft operating in every climate and condition worldwide.
